My Story

A Little About Me

My name is Shirley, for those of you who know me I am known as Shirbil in the chat rooms. I have had a few people ask me to add my story to my web page, frankly it feels a little weird to write about myself. Anyways thought what I would do is try to tell you a little about me and my family and how I've come to be the person I am today, which wouldn't be possible without the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I am one of three children. I have 2 sisters, Susan who is 10 years older than me, she has 2 great kids, Lance, who serves in the United States Marines and "B" a computer whiz, Janet who is 10 years younger, she has 3 children, Donnie, Elli and Little Shayne Allen. (Mom says of course they didn't plan for us to be 10 years apart.) Mom and Dad were married 49 years, Dad passed away in 1996. I am happily married to a wonderful man, Bill and have 2 children. Heather and her sweetie Mike have 1 child, Lukas. My son Greg serves in the United States Air Force and is married to Stefani.

My life hasn't been the easiest but that's due to the fact that I wasn't serving the Lord. I can see how He has worked in my life and brought me to where I am now. After 2 failed marriages, abuse and drugs, I met my husband Bill. He is a wonderful man. Between the two of us we have had several health problems but again I can see where God has worked that out as well. I have a heart disease called WPWS (Wolfs Parkinsons White Syndrome) the doctors did Ablation therapy four times with no success and they implanted a pacemaker in 1996 which my heart is totally reliant on. I was only 36 years old. My husband has Liver disease and just finished a one year regimen of Chemo therapy. Praise the Lord, he seems to be much better and we are trusting for a complete recovery. We have had several other serious health stuggles in the past but God has used each struggle to prepare and bring us to where we are today. Well I had a pretty rocky wishy washy relationship with the Lord for several years, I didn't get serious about serving the Lord until after my Dad passed away. I realized at that point in my life that truly something was missing and knew immediately what it was. My Grandmother (Ellen) had a very important part in my life, she and her husband pastored a church in Colorado and she truly showed me the love of Jesus Christ by the life that she led. Thankfully I can say that I am serving the Lord wih all my heart and that I am Saved by His Grace. I am looking forward to what He has in store for me and I feel that He is going to use me someway to Glorify HIM.

My favorite passage of scripture is Jeremiah 29:11-14, "For I know the thought that I think toward you, say the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord and I will bring you back from your captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord; and I will bring you to the place from whcih I cause you to be carried away captive." Praise the Lord, He loves me, He cares for me, He gave me a future and a hope, He listens to Me, I found Him, and He brought me out of the captivity of sin. Glory to His Majesty.

Well now you know a little about me. I hope through my story that someone out there is blessed. I AM...My hope on this website is for all who visit to see Christ's wonderful love. If you have any questions or comments, please contact me. I pray that the Lord blesses each and every one of you.

A quick update on my health for those of you that don't know I was recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I don't know much about it yet but boy when I do, you can be sure I will inform you. I certainly appreciate the prayers of all my friends.
